Testimonials
'Sandra taught me yoga for over two years. I saw her once a week and never failed to feel challenged, exhilarated, inspired and relaxed. She is an excellent teacher with a detailed understanding of all the Astanga yoga positions both structurally and on an energetic level, from the "inside". She taught me how to feel my own way into the postures with focus, precision and discipline - but no matter how much I learned, she always had more to teach me. I have had many yoga teachers over the years and no one before or after has ever lived up to her excellent standards. I just wish she was still teaching in London!' - Bonny Chmelik, Finchley.
Sandra is a really knowledgeable and inspirational yoga instructor... she is a walking advert for the benefits of yoga! I have done various yoga classes over the last 30 years, and Sandra's is the best. - Maria Hayes-Yapp, Thame
About Sandra
I walked into my first yoga class in 1993, after my curiosity was piqued by an osteopath treating me for a sports injury. I was fit, but I can still remember the shock of realising just how stiff and locked-up my body had become. However, a seed had been sown, and over the coming years a love of the practice would grow and blossom.
In my early days as a yoga student I was fortunate to be introduced to Narayani and Giris Rabinovitch. They were inspiring and gracious teachers, and both hold a very special place in my heart. I practiced for my own enjoyment and well-being until, in 2004, I was persuaded to attend my first Teaching Intensive at The Sivananda Ashram in Val Morin, Canada.
Shortly afterwards I began to practice under the guidance of Hamish Hendry of Ashtanga Yoga London. A few years later I completed Richard Freeman's Ashtanga Intensive in Boulder, Colorado.
Through my love of the practice I have had the opportunity to work with a number of prominent and diverse teachers including, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Sri Dharma Mittra, John Scott, David Life, Sharon Gannon, Dona Holleman, Anna Forest, Alaric Newcombe and Edward Clarke.
In 2004, I was photographed with Jean Hall for her book, Ashtanga Yoga.
